Before you go

Providence is a fun, vibrant city that is the capital of Rhode Island. And with such a variety of winter date ideas in Providence, there is something for everyone here. There are a few things you should consider when planning your winter date night in the Providence area:

Parking: In certain areas of Providence, parking can be limited. Consider using a ride-sharing app if you go out in busy areas with limited parking, such as the East Side or Federal Hill.

Reservations: Providence is home to many colleges such as Brown University, Providence College, and my alma mater Rhode Island College. The city becomes very crowded during certain times of the year (i.e. graduation, freshmen move-in, alumni weekend, etc.). Keep this in mind if you are trying to make dinner reservations.

Holiday Season: During the winter season, the city of Providence hosts seasonal shows, festivals, and markets. Since this schedule can change yearly, check the updated calendar.
